The Burgo Group needed to review the budgeting process developed within the old application, which was considered rigid and difficult to adapt to the changing business needs without the help of an external consultant, resulting in increased maintenance costs.
This situation led Burgo to search for a new solution, for which the main characteristics were identified:
Following a software selection process among several vendors, identified as the best to meet the above-listed needs and objectives, CCH Tagetik was selected as the winning solution.
Among the peculiarities that led CCH Tagetik to win, it's worth highlighting the unique and configurable data model, also in the industrial sector, and the native management of multi-level bills of materials, production cycles, and purchase price lists.
In addition, important characteristics were considered the flexibility of use and low maintenance activity in configuring a budget process that Burgo Group was able to experience first-hand thanks to a PoC developed during the selection phase.
The project delivery was followed by the AKC team in collaboration with EXCENT. The choice was made considering the experience gained by our company in over 20 years of field activity both in the implementation of CCH Tagetik and in the revision of business models, also focusing on manufacturing companies.
The Budget & Consolidation project, which started in April and ended in December, aimed to define and implement in CCH Tagetik a process for collecting and constructing the Budget that involved all group companies and was divided into three interrelated phases: commercial, industrial, and opex, with consequent management consolidation.

After a fine-tuning period following the initial configuration, necessary to bring the application up to speed, the system is now able to perfectly meet Burgo Group's needs, natively integrating sales budget with MRP explosion in production plants and consequent control of plant saturation.
The proposed and configured solution is the only system used in Burgo to support the entire budget process. Thanks to this, Burgo has managed to decentralize most of the activities to peripheral contributors (e.g., Sales Managers), while still maintaining ownership of the process centrally through collaborative workflows and dashboards available in CCH Tagetik.
CCH Tagetik has thus become the only software within the group used for budget drafting: flexible, configurable, and ready to accommodate any changes in the planning model. Thanks to this, the working time of the various actors involved has been significantly reduced, increasing the reliability of the presented data. Without CCH Tagetik, in fact, the budget drafting would have required more than 30% longer than the current situation.
CCH Tagetik has also eliminated data transfer errors between the different applications that used to orbit around the budget process. Moreover, it has fully integrated the Sales world with the Operation world, thanks to native functionalities supporting Demand Planning and line saturation, while guaranteeing a tight flow between the various activities, which was previously difficult to manage.
